About this record
GDACS event 1474477 records a magnitude 7.7 earthquake at 06:20 UTC on 28 March 2025, near 22.01°N, 95.92°E, at a reported depth of 10 km. Its alert level is Red. The event's own GDACS record does not contain a GLIDE code; a second GDACS entry for a magnitude 6.7 shock twelve minutes later carries GLIDE EQ-2025-000043-MMR. [1] [2]
IFRC GO uses that GLIDE code for its Myanmar earthquake record and appeal MDRMM023. The Myanmar Red Cross Society is named in the operation, whose target is 75,000 people. We treat the IFRC record as an associated earthquake response, not as an exact identifier match to GDACS event 1474477. The target is not a measured count of people affected. [3]
Tekkatho Foundation's GlobalGiving project describes emergency assistance and later rebuilding for displaced communities in Sagaing. Its reports discuss cash, food, water, shelter, and education support amid conflict and limited formal aid. The map shows the GDACS event location; it is not a precise map of project sites. [4] [5]
